At Run Lab Clinics we provide consultations whether your foot or ankle pain is sport/exercise related or not 

Our 45 minute sports podiatry consultation provides a detailed history of presenting problem, current symptoms & current medical history. A detailed examination of presenting problem with evaluation of foot & lower limb function is provided along with Initial diagnosis, management plan & written letter of consultation.

We provide musculoskeletal assessment & use state of the art RS Scan dynamic pressure analysis to to help diagnose cause of pain/injury.

Condition/Injury we can help with:

Plantar pressure data is collected barefoot but we can also collect this date while the patient is wearing footwear/orthoses. This enables us to analyse the influences of both footwear &/or orthoses during the phases of gait.



Run Lab Clinics was set up by sports podiatrist Matt Hart in 2018 to provide runners with a service that provides current evidence-based thinking & approaches to injury, running gait & footwear.

Matt is a fully qualified & registered podiatrist with a background of over 10 years in sports & exercise science & running footwear. With extensive knowledge & experience within running biomechanics & footwear he has a passion for sports ​medicine & has a specialist interest in sport/exercise related injury & mechanical issues of the foot, ankle & lower leg.

Matt has been involved in sport from an early age. He has competed in both Olympic & Ironman distance triathlons & has been a competitive runner for over 20 years.

A member of Bristol & West AC Matt over the years has competed on the track, cross country, on the road & has a half marathon personal best of 1hr 13min.

Running is one of the most popular ways to keep fit. At Run Lab Clinics we work with runners of all levels & abilities from those just starting out with couch to 5km & park runs to elite athletes. We regularly see individuals with aches & pains as a result of exercise that prevent them from continuing with either their every day activity, exercise or sport.

These injuries are often a result of how you are moving when running. Factors such as running technique, footwear choices, muscular weakness, imbalances & reduced joint range of movement can increase mechanical stress & load above levels at which our soft tissues can tolerate, leading to fatigue, reduced performance, eventual breakdown & injury.

At Run Lab Clinics our gait analysis consultation is used to assess, plan, & manage individuals looking to improve performance or with conditions/injury affecting their ability to run.
